These people are a pain! They violate the Fair Debt Collections Practices act at every turn! Google it to find out your rights-if you call them as an educated person they will get very frustrated and hang up. The first thing to do is find out if payday loans are even legal in your state (they are not legal in mine). They CANNOT sue you or do anything else to you, whether or not you owe anything, if you live in one of those states. They will be shut down for operating without a license, and them even calling you to collect is illegal. I asked for their address, and when I googled it, it was for a liquor store. I told him he must have given me the wrong address, so I googled the second one he gave me and it was a Bistro. Haha. Don't pay any mind to them, especially if you live in a state where these loans are illegal. Unless you owe them a ton of money, it won't be worth the legal fees for them to sue you. The people calling buy your bad account and just make commission if they collect on it, that's the only reason they call so much!

I received a call last year on my way home from the doctor's stating that he would be waiting for me when I got home.  To avoid this I needed to make a payment NOW!  I hung up after telling him I'll be waiting with the cops.  I just received two calls this month, this time in my voice mail.  The same threats and both phone#s as No Way.  I spent over an hour and a half on google to track numbers for free with no avail.  I finally googled the phone number which brought me to this sight.  Thanks much!!!  I was getting scared that this was a nut case with my address as I;m a female living alone.   Call type was that there will be two charges filed against me in my county.  Looks like there has been some type of fraudulant activity attached to my name and ss#.  I do need to make you aware of your legal rights to address your charges prior to them being filed against you.  You will need to do so before receiving your summons at your place of employment or home address.  Once you are served, your rights will be forfeited.  Then they left a case and phone#.

I received the same call from two different numbers but had the exact same message.  They are calling from the civil service in processing unit and I had two charges against me. I need to contact the legal department  to resolve the issues.  Once I am serve all of my civil rights will be revoked.  I am not giving them anything, and if I really do owe someone money they need to contact me and send proof of debt that is the only way I am going to pay. But I will have a lawyer look into it first to make sure it is legitimate debt that I owe. It is really sad that we have to be subjected to people like this while going through tough times already. I am one paycheck from being homeless and I am not going to take this laying down.here are the numbers that I got calls from 770-217-3383 and 913-730-7397.

Phantom Debt Collectors From India Harass Americans, Demand MoneyBy BRIAN ROSS (@brianross) , CINDY GALLI and MATTHEW MOSK (@mattmosk) June 7, 2012 Hundreds of thousands of cash-strapped Americans have been targeted by abusive debt collectors operating out of overseas call centers suspected of links to organized crime in India, law enforcement officials told ABC News. The calls are part of a massive scam, one that appears to target struggling Americans -- especially those who have gone online to apply for payday loans. Armed with personal information from those pilfered applications, the threatening callers, who claim to be debt collectors poised to initiate legal action, have managed to pry loose millions of dollars from their victims -- even when the victims never owed money in the first place."This is what we call a phantom debt collection scam," said Jon Leibowitz, the chairman of the Federal Trade Commission. "It's a very pernicious and innovative new fraud."Working through call centers in India, the commission estimates that the criminals have dialed at least 2.5 million calls, persuading already cash-strapped victims to send them more than $5 million. Some have reported receiving dozens of calls per hour. They are victims like Cindy Gervais, of New Orleans, who went online for a quick loan when her husband's car was hit by a driver who didn't have insurance.Even though she paid the loan off, the so-called "phantom" debt collectors with Indian accents began calling to say she still owed money. He more or less told me that if I didn't pay, they were going to have someone on my doorstep to arrest me," she told ABC News. "And that they were going to contact my place of business, and tell them what kind of person I am."At first, she said she resisted. Then the calls became more frequent, and started to ring on her cell phone, and at the grocery distribution company where she had worked for 27 years."I was more or less was in panic mode because he told me there would be someone before noon at my place of business to arrest me and take me to jail," she said tearfully. "So I agreed to pay him."After receiving scores of complaints, investigators with the FTC said they began tracking the calls, and following the payments. They alleged the payments led them to a California company run by an Indian-American named Kirit Patel, and that such scams would not be possible without American front men."I would say that all roads of this scam, or many of the roads of this scam, lead back to Mr. Patel," said the FTC's Leibowitz.ABC News tracked Patel for weeks, from the suburbs of San Francisco to Austin, Texas.Patel refused to talk. But his lawyer, Mark Ellis, said he believes it is far too early to pass judgment on his client. Ellis, a Sacramento-based attorney, told ABC News that Patel was hired for a nominal fee to set up an American shell company, and had no idea what the call centers in India were doing."I can tell you, he was as snookered by the people in India as anybody," Ellis said. "He's a 69-year-old man who is nearing his retirement who thought all he had to do was set up some corporations and everything was on the up and up. He's completely dismayed that he has become the lightning rod of this entire problem."A close friend of Patel's also defended him in a brief interview at his home, saying Patel was not trying to defraud anyone -- he was just an unwitting, bit player in a larger scheme."If Mr. Patel was just a cog in the wheel he seems to have been a pretty big cog," Leibowitz said. "It is clear that Patel was integrally involved with this scam."Leibowitz points to thousands of pages of financial and phone records gathered by the FTC and filed as part of a civil case brought against him in the U.S. District Court in Sacramento last month. When FTC lawyers sought to freeze his assets and prevent his business from continuing to operate, Patel responded by invoking his rights against self-incrimination. His lawyer told ABC News he has had to be careful in how he responds to the allegations in civil court "because there is a potential criminal action," but that Patel maintains the allegations against him are false.Federal investigators said the phantom debt collection operation that allegedly benefitted from Patel's assistance was one of several that all trace back to the same small town in Western India called Ahmedabad. Callers use technology to make it appear that the calls originate inside the U.S. Victims provided ABC News with recordings of dozens of the calls, and many of the thickly accented callers appear to be reading off a script."Subpoenas have been readied, and Monday morning you're going to be picked up from your home," one caller says on a victim's voicemail. "And you have children. Don't worry about your children. We have a childcare department to take care of the children.""You will be behind bars for six months," said another caller. "And once you go behind bars, you will lose your job. Once you are behind the bars, you won't get a single drop of water."William Peerce Howard, a Tampa attorney who represents victims of harassment from debt collectors, said it takes an especially twisted criminal to use threats and coercion to pry money from someone who is already struggling financially"These guys really are the most visible villains in America today," he said. "They make a living scaring people."Mark Merola, of Florida, said he just panicked when the caller told him he might be arrested at the deli where he works in a Florida retirement community."I was nervous. I didn't want to embarrass myself, my family," he said. He used his debit card to pay the collector $576.Afterwards, he says he realized "how stupid I was." "It just happened so fast," he said. "I got scared." Leibowitz said he hopes with more attention, future potential targets of the scam will recognize red flags before they turn over any money. If callers say they are from the police, consumers should know that law enforcement officers do not collect debt for private parties. If the caller is speaking with a thick Indian accent, but calls themselves by a names such as Officer Mike Johnson, that should be a tip off. And if they're calling 40 times in two hours, that's another red flag. "Legitimate debt collectors, legitimate pay day lenders don't do those sorts of things," he said.Merola said he would like to see anyone involved in the scam prosecuted aggressively."There's no place in society for these people," he said. http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/phantom-debt-co ... 16512428&page=2Reply !

Yes, Wells Fargo......We had a loan with them and then traded the car simply to get away from their constant harrassing phone calls. It has been 30 days now since we traded and they are calling me I suppose over payment. I told them we traded and to take it up with the dealership but they keep calling. They won't leave message and when they do if it's not for us it's for someone else which by the way I have told them numerous times they have the wrong number for them....UGH is all I can say if you can stay away from them do NEVER EVER finance anything thru them.

Yeah...they lie! They called my cell phone once while I was at work, and I of course did not answer. Then they immediately called my work #, and I picked up. When I told them not to call me at work, they claimed that this was the only contact # they had for me. When I confronted them about having just called my cell, they claimed that their phones are on auto dialer by a computer. They used to call me upwards of 6 times a day, even if my payment was 1 day late. They even called twice on the due date looking for money. Also if you set up an online payment for after your due date (to correspond with your paycheck, etc), they apparently don't check their system, because they will repeatedly call after the due date, but before they receive payment.

To get your grant, simply give us your checking account information, and we will direct-deposit the grant into your bank account!” Sometimes, it’s an ad that claims you will qualify to receive a “free grant” to pay for education costs, home repairs, home business expenses, or unpaid bills. Other times, it’s a phone call supposedly from a “government” agency or some other organization with an official sounding name. In either case, the claim is the same: your application for a grant is guaranteed to be accepted, and you’ll never have to pay the money back. But the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, says that “money for nothing” grant offers usually are scams, whether you see them in your local paper or a national magazine, or hear about them on the phone. Some scam artists advertise “free grants” in the classifieds, inviting readers to call a toll-free number for more information. Others are more bold: they call you out of the blue. They lie about where they’re calling from, or they claim legitimacy using an official-sounding name like the “Federal Grants Administration.” They may ask you some basic questions to determine if you “qualify” to receive a grant. FTC attorneys say calls and come-ons for free money invariably are rip offs. Grant scammers generally follow a script: they congratulate you on your eligibility, then ask for your checking account information so they can “deposit your grant directly into your account,” or cover a one-time “processing fee.” The caller may even reassure you that you can get a refund if you’re not satisfied. In fact, you’ll never see the grant they promise; they will disappear with your money. The FTC says following a few basic rules can keep consumers from losing money to these “government grant” scams:     Don’t give out your bank account information to anyone you don’t know. Scammers pressure people to divulge their bank account information so that they can steal the money in the account. Always keep your bank account information confidential. Don’t share it unless you are familiar with the company and know why the information is necessary.     Don’t pay any money for a “free” government grant. If you have to pay money to claim a “free” government grant, it isn’t really free. A real government agency won’t ask you to pay a processing fee for a grant that you have already been awarded — or to pay for a list of grant-making institutions. The names of agencies and foundations that award grants are available for free at any public library or on the Internet. The only official access point for all federal grant-making agencies is www.grants.gov.     Look-alikes aren’t the real thing. Just because the caller says he’s from the “Federal Grants Administration” doesn’t mean that he is. There is no such government agency. Take a moment to check the blue pages in your telephone directory to bear out your hunch — or not.     Phone numbers can deceive. Some con artists use Internet technology to disguise their area code in caller ID systems. Although it may look like they’re calling from Washington, DC, they could be calling from anywhere in the world.     Take control of the calls you receive. If you want to reduce the number of telemarketing calls you receive, place your telephone number on the National Do Not Call Registry. To register online, visit www.donotcall.gov. To register by phone, call 1-888-382-1222 (TTY: 1-866-290-4236) from the phone number you wish to register.     File a complaint with the FTC. If you think you may have been a victim of a government grant scam, file a complaint with the FTC online at www.ftc.gov, or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261. The FTC enters Internet, telemarketing, identity theft, and other fraud-related complaints into Consumer Sentinel, a secure online database available to hundreds of civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad. The FTC works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers spot, stop, and avoid them. To file a complaint or to get free information on consumer issues, visit ftc.gov or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261. The FTC enters consumer complaints into the Consumer Sentinel Network, a secure online database and investigative tool used by hundreds of civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad. September 2006 Feds: Scammers Falsely "Guaranteed" Government GrantsCourt halts operators' deceptive pitches for grant writing book and servicesBy James Limbach ConsumerAffairs.comJuly 24, 2009 A federal judge has stopped an operation from falsely claiming that it could help consumers secure a "$25,000 Grant" -- guaranteed -- from the U.S. government. The case is part of a Federal Trade Commission crackdown on scammers trying to capitalize on the economic downturn by targeting people facing financial hardship. In the complaint the FTC, jointly with the attorneys general of Kansas, Minnesota, and North Carolina, charged that Grant Writers Institute, LLC and its related entities (together, GWI) falsely told consumers that they were eligible for grants as part of the recently announced economic stimulus package .According to the complaint, the false and deceptive claims by GWI violate federal law, state consumer protection laws, and the FTC's Telemarketing Sales Rule. The complaint seeks a court order permanently stopping the defendants' illegal conduct and forcing them to return money to consumers injured by the scheme."Stamping out grant fraud and other types of schemes that take advantage of consumers in dire financial shape continues to be one of the Federal Trade Commission's highest priorities," said David Vladeck, Director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection. "There is no such thing as a guaranteed grant. But to consumers in financial trouble, the chance for extra income -- guaranteed or otherwise -- can unfortunately be a huge draw."The FTC says since at least 2007, GWI has mass mailed postcards to consumers across the country falsely claiming that the consumers "are Guaranteed a $25,000 Grant from the U.S. Government." Consumers who call the number are pitched a $59 book titled "Professional Grant Writer 'The Definitive Guide to Grant Writing Success.'"The company's telemarketers falsely claim that the book will explain how to get government grants  -- including the "guaranteed" $25,000 grant. GWI and its North Carolina-based telemarketers, also named as defendants in the complaint, then call consumers who have bought the book, trying to get them to pay hundreds of dollars or more for grant research, writing, or coaching services, falsely claiming a 70 percent success rate in securing grant funding. In reality, few, if any consumers ever receive any grant money. The Commission contends that in addition to falsely claiming consumers were "guaranteed" to receive grants, GWI used the current government stimulus package to make its pitch. For example, when consumers called the number on the mass-mailed postcard, they heard a recording that said, "If you've been reading the papers you know that recently our government released $700 billion into the private sector. What you probably don't know is that there is another $300 billion that must be given away this year to people just like you."The recording continues, "And if you're one of the lucky few who knows how to find and apply for these grants, you will receive a check for $25,000 or more, and we guarantee it . . . If you don't get a check for $25,000 or more, you pay nothing."The following were named as defendants:• Affiliate Strategies, Inc.;• Landmark Publishing Group, LLC (d/b/a G.F. Institute and Grant Funding Institute);• Grant Writers Institute, LLC;• Answer Customers, LLC;• Apex Holdings International, LLC;• Brett Blackman, individually and as an officer, manager, and/or member of Affiliate Strategies, Inc., Landmark Publishing Group, LLC, Grant Writers Institute, LLC, Answer Customers, LLC, and Apex Holdings International, LLC;• Jordan Sevy, individually and as a manager of Landmark Publishing Group, LLC;• James Rulison, individually and as president of Answer Customers, LLC, all located in Kansas. The complaint also names the following North Carolina entities as defendants:• Real Estate Buyers Financial Network LLC (d/b/a Grant Writers Research Network);• Martin Nossov, individually and as a manager and member of Real Estate Buyers Financial Network LLC; and• Alicia Nossov, individually and as a manager and member of Real Estate Buyers Financial Network LLC.Read more: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2009/07 ... l#ixzz0NENGCoRV

Yef to answer your question I was upset because they wouldnt let me settle it out at what I wanted to but it was understandable cause it was an active case since 2008 so the interest rate should have been higher and still worked out a deal for me. so overall im happy i guess who likes to pay bill u know?

I called and asked if they are the real check systems but there spelling is different but subcontract off of them and prepare civil judgements to people... Jordan agati wouldnt work out what I wanted and stated that he was going to file it as a invoultnary action because of what I owed and couldnt come to an agreement. I called back and asked for the director and got the same result and was stuck paying what I owed unfourntelely and hit with some interest... Good experience overall other than the lack of help but i guess was my fault considering I didnt pay off my loan

I asked for a verfication of what I owed and it was sent to my ermail address as well as my active home address. Thats good enough evidence for me espically when they had my vin numbers/ssn/licence #/ liens/ and higher ups such as directors get in contact with me.  I had no problem working out with a settlement with jordan agati his name was but the director wouldnt let him offer me the settlement so thats what made me upset. Everything seems legitment to me and no complaints on my experience

This is not a collection agency I can insure you that. I thought so to at first but after ignoring so many calls day by day I finally spoke to a gentleman  they faxed me the right information. I reviewed it and the information was linked to me . I paid it off and that was that .. Never heard from them or anyone else for that matterever again. All in all I believe these people really are the last thing these lenders resort on before action on issue really does happen.

Most reputable companies give you 1-800 or 866 or 877, etc numbers to call so you don't have to pay long distance charges that might apply.   Same for conference call-ins.   FreeConferenceCall.com advertises a "free" conference call in number.  Its free for the person that sets up the call.  However, if you have to call long distance to get on the conference call, you pay.I took what's below here off the FreeConferenceCall.com web page.  Check out how they have this set up.  You decide if they are trying to sneak one by you. What’s the catch? There is no catch! There are no advertisements to listen to, no quality issues, no hidden fees, no sales pitches, no contracts, no purchases required, no privacy problems, no limitations or restrictions, and no surprises. Top  What are the costs involved in a FreeConferenceCall® account? Only normal long distance charges by each caller's carrier apply. There will be no bill or charges from FreeConferenceCall.com for this service.
