They claim that you can go to their website and be removed from their calling lists:      wcaconsent Good luck with that. With this being reported by so many people...someone somewhere must know this is actually happening    this.....why is nothing being done to stop these calls?  Does anybody anywhere monitor these calls you receive from consumers or are they setting out in space or eaten by the satellites......It's not a joke....what's the purpose of submitting anything to you if you can't correct the problem. I know I won't get one but I would like to get some type of reply from someone somewhere that a real human being is receiving these messages. I do not believe I owe what you say I owe therefore I dispute this debt. I am well aware of my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and my state laws so I hope to save both of us a great deal of time by letting you know that not only do I dispute the validity of this debt, I have also checked with my State Attorney General and verified that the Statute of Limitations for enforcing this type of debt through the courts in (insert your state or the state in which the contract was signed) has expired. Therefore, should you decide to pursue this matter in court I intend to inform the court of my dispute of this debt and that the "statute of limitations" has expired. This letter is your formal notification that I consider this matter closed and demand that you, or anyone affiliated with your company, stop contacting me regarding this or any other matter except to advise me that your debt collection efforts are being terminated or that you or the creditor are taking specific actions allowed by the FDCPA or my state laws. Be advised that I consider any contact not in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act a serious violation of the law and will immediately report any violations to my State Attorney General, to the Federal Trade Commission and, if necessary, take whatever legal action is necessary to protect myself. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, enforces the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which prohibits debt collectors from using abusive, unfair, or deceptive practices to collect from you.Under the FDCPA, a debt collector is someone who regularly collects debts owed to others. This includes collection agencies, lawyers who collect debts on a regular basis, and companies that buy delinquent debts and then try to collect them. Here are some questions and answers about your rights under the Act.What types of debts are covered? The Act covers personal, family, and household debts, including money you owe on a personal credit card account, an auto loan, a medical bill, and your mortgage. The FDCPA doesn’t cover debts you incurred to run a business. Can a debt collector contact me any time or any place? No. A debt collector may not contact you at inconvenient times or places, such as before 8 in the morning or after 9 at night, unless you agree to it. And collectors may not contact you at work if they’re told (orally or in writing) that you’re not allowed to get calls there. How can I stop a debt collector from contacting me?If a collector contacts you about a debt, you may want to talk to them at least once to see if you can resolve the matter – even if you don’t think you owe the debt, can’t repay it immediately, or think that the collector is contacting you by mistake. If you decide after contacting the debt collector that you don’t want the collector to contact you again, tell the collector – in writing – to stop contacting you. Here’s how to do that:Make a copy of your letter. Send the original by certified mail, and pay for a “return receipt” so you’ll be able to document what the collector received. Once the collector receives your letter, they may not contact you again, with two exceptions: a collector can contact you to tell you there will be no further contact or to let you know that they or the creditor intend to take a specific action, like filing a lawsuit. Sending such a letter to a debt collector you owe money to does not get rid of the debt, but it should stop the contact. The creditor or the debt collector still can sue you to collect the debt. Can a debt collector contact anyone else about my debt?If an attorney is representing you about the debt, the debt collector must contact the attorney, rather than you. If you don’t have an attorney, a collector may contact other people – but only to find out your address, your home phone number, and where you work. Collectors usually are prohibited from contacting third parties more than once. Other than to obtain this location information about you, a debt collector generally is not permitted to discuss your debt with anyone other than you, your spouse, or your attorney. What does the debt collector have to tell me about the debt? Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. Can a debt collector keep contacting me if I don’t think I owe any money? If you send the debt collector a letter stating that you don’t owe any or all of the money, or asking for verification of the debt, that collector must stop contacting you. You have to send that letter within 30 days after you receive the validation notice. But a collector can begin contacting you again if it sends you written verification of the debt, like a copy of a bill for the amount you owe. What practices are off limits for debt collectors?Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:     use threats of violence or harm;     publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies);     use obscene or profane language; or     repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone. False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:     falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives;     falsely claim that you have committed a crime;     falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company;     misrepresent the amount you owe;     indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren’t; or     indicate that papers they send to you aren’t legal forms if they are. Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:     you will be arrested if you don’t pay your debt;     they’ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or     legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don’t intend to take the action. Debt collectors may not:     give false credit information about you to anyone, including a credit reporting company;     send you anything that looks like an official document from a court or government agency if it isn’t; or    use a false company name. Unfair practices. Debt collectors may not engage in unfair practices when they try to collect a debt. For example, they may not:     try to collect any interest, fee, or other charge on top of the amount you owe unless the contract that created your debt – or your state law – allows the charge;     deposit a post-dated check early;     take or threaten to take your property unless it can be done legally; or     contact you by postcard. Can I control which debts my payments apply to? Yes. If a debt collector is trying to collect more than one debt from you, the collector must apply any payment you make to the debt you select. Equally important, a debt collector may not apply a payment to a debt you don’t think you owe.Can a debt collector garnish my bank account or my wages? If you don’t pay a debt, a creditor or its debt collector generally can sue you to collect. If they win, the court will enter a judgment against you. The judgment states the amount of money you owe, and allows the creditor or collector to get a garnishment order against you, directing a third party, like your bank, to turn over funds from your account to pay the debt. Wage garnishment happens when your employer withholds part of your compensation to pay your debts. Your wages usually can be garnished only as the result of a court order. Don’t ignore a lawsuit summons. If you do, you lose the opportunity to fight a wage garnishment. Can federal benefits be garnished? Many federal benefits are exempt from garnishment, including:     Social Security Benefits     Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Benefits     Veterans’ Benefits     Civil Service and Federal Retirement and Disability Benefits     Service Members’ Pay     Military Annuities and Survivors’ Benefits     Student Assistance     Railroad Retirement Benefits     Merchant Seamen Wages     Longshoremen’s and Harbor Workers’ Death and Disability Benefits     Foreign Service Retirement and Disability Benefits     Compensation for Injury, Death, or Detention of Employees of U.S. Contractors Outside the U.S.     Federal Emergency Management Agency Federal Disaster Assistance But federal benefits may be garnished under certain circumstances, including to pay delinquent taxes, alimony, child support, or student loans. Do I have any recourse if I think a debt collector has violated the law? You have the right to sue a collector in a state or federal court within one year from the date the law was violated. If you win, the judge can require the collector to pay you for any damages you can prove you suffered because of the illegal collection practices, like lost wages and medical bills. The judge can require the debt collector to pay you up to $1,000, even if you can’t prove that you suffered actual damages. You also can be reimbursed for your attorney’s fees and court costs. A group of people also may sue a debt collector as part of a class action lawsuit and recover money for damages up to $500,000, or one percent of the collector’s net worth, whichever amount is lower. Even if a debt collector violates the FDCPA in trying to collect a debt, the debt does not go away if you owe it.What should I do if a debt collector sues me?If a debt collector files a lawsuit against you to collect a debt, respond to the lawsuit, either personally or through your lawyer, by the date specified in the court papers to preserve your rights. Where do I report a debt collector for an alleged violation?Report any problems you have with a debt collector to your state Attorney General’s office (www.naag.org) and the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov). Many states have their own debt collection laws that are different from the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Your Attorney General’s office can help you determine your rights under your state’s law.For More InformationTo learn more about debt collection and other credit-related issues, visit www.ftc.gov/credit and MyMoney.gov, the U.S. government’s portal to financial education. The FTC works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers spot, stop, and avoid them. If you fall behind in paying your creditors — or if you dispute the legitimacy of a debt — a debt collector may contact you.“Time-barred” debts are debts so old they are beyond the point at which a creditor or debt collector may sue you to collect. State law varies as to when a creditor or debt collector may no longer sue to collect: in most states, the statute of limitations period on debts is between 3 and 10 years; in some states, the period is longer. Check with your State Attorney General’s Office to determine when a debt is considered time-barred in your state. You can find contact information for your State Attorney General at www.naag.org. Federal law imposes limitations on how debt collectors can collect debts, including time-barred debts. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), a “debt collector” generally is any person or organization that regularly collects debts owed to others. The term includes lawyers who collect debts for others on a regular basis, but it does not include creditors collecting their own debts. The FDCPA prohibits debt collectors from engaging in any unfair, deceptive, or abusive practices while collecting debts. It does not erase any legitimate debt that you owe. To learn more about your rights under the FDCPA, click on www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/fdc.htm.Collecting Time-Barred DebtsMost courts that have addressed the issue have ruled that the FDCPA does not prohibit debt collectors from trying to collect time-barred debts, as long as they do not sue or threaten to sue you for the debt. If a debt collector sues you to collect a time-barred debt, you can have the suit dismissed by letting the court or judge know the debt is, indeed, time-barred.Whether a time-barred debt — or any debt for that matter — can appear on your credit report depends on how long the debt has been delinquent: debts that have been delinquent more than seven years cannot appear on your credit report, with certain exceptions. In addition, a debt collector may not try to collect a debt that has been discharged in bankruptcy, no matter when it was incurred. To learn more about credit reporting, click on www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/fcra.htm.Contact with CollectorsCan a debt collector continue to contact you about a time-barred debt you don’t think you owe? According to the law, if you send the debt collector a letter stating that you do not owe some or all of the money within 30 days after you receive written notice of a debt, the collector must stop trying to collect until you’ve been given written verification of the debt, like a copy of the bill for the amount you supposedly owe. The collector can renew collection activities once you’ve gotten proof of the debt. You can stop debt collectors from contacting you about any debt, regardless of whether you owe it, by writing a letter telling them to stop contacting you. Once the collector gets your letter, it may not contact you again — except to say there will be no further contact or to let you know that the collector or creditor intends to take some specific action. Sending a letter doesn’t absolve you of the debt if you actually owe it; the debt collector or creditor still could sue you for the debt.Future Collection EffortsThe best way to protect yourself from future collection on any disputed or partially settled debt is to get a form or letter from the creditor or collector that releases you from further obligation. To make sure the release is valid, you may want to consult an attorney. If you believe that a debt collector violated the law, you have the right to sue in a state or federal court within a year from the date the law was violated. If you win, you may recover money for the damages you suffered, plus an additional amount up to $1,000. You also may recover court costs and attorney’s fees. You also may want to report any problems you have with a debt collector to your State Attorney General and to the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC works to prevent fraudulent, deceptive and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers spot, stop and avoid them. If you read Al's comments, he doesn't support Al Qaeda - he is upset that our government allows decent people to be harrassed and hopes the telemarketers will suffer. DuhI get call constantly from these jerks as well.Already filed several complaint against them. - Of course it doesn't do any good. Hence Al's post!

You are obviously Anti-American for saying you support Al-Qaeda. Why do you hate America so much? Maybe you should move to a cave in Pakistan and carry an AK like your muslim brothers.

As Reagan would say... "oh here we go again"...Rec'd multiple junk marketing ph calls from 888-296-1483, in an incessant and relentless fashion:--  10:48 am--  12:25 pm--  12:35 pm--  12:50 pm--  1:07 pm--  1:19 pm--  1:33 pm--  1:49 pmNo question in my mind these persistent b*****ds were getting quite perplexed getting auto-dumped into our voice jail system, in spite of their Gatling-gun call fashion. However, nothing pleasures me as much as frustrating dirtbags. No messages left. Reverse Lookup points to some real dirt-bags, and robo-calling. We have our phone switch to take their calls an auto-dump it into voice jail. Even if they call on our inside lines, the switch detects their number and they can call to the end of time and never get anywhere.Where are all the stupid Obama supporters so invested in protecting me with their nanny state regarding every facet of my life when it comes to telemarketing? I need relief for my health from telemarketing and not forced health care reform, socialism, fascism in an egalitarian-utopia. Utopia is when Al Qaeda kills off all of telemarketing. Hey, now there's a thought...

Most annoying. I like what someone else wrote:  line 'em up and shoot 'em all at sunset. Great plan. We have our phone switch programmed to automatically recognize this number and dump them right into voice jail. Predictably they never leave any messages... much like the dopey Al Gore with his foregone conclusions, given that global-warming is a total junk science... allow me to translate:  "just trust us, bend over, this isn't going to hurt…" yeah right. These people called me claiming that They needed by bank account number to settle up some loan that I supposedly owed which I knew nothing about. When I asked where they were callingt from they said Greenbeerg and Stein which is out of New York and only deals with Injuries and Accidents. I strongly advice that nobody give these people your information. It is a total scam.

I received the call on my answering machine and when I called back, I got "special agent Rogers.  He was looking for my former daughter-in-law.  He said he was with the fraud division and there was a warrant out for her for check fraud.  I told him I had no contact with her and did not know where she lived.  He sounded legitimate since he said the warrant was from the county where I live and she used to live.  There must be a place to report this, but I don't know where.  Anybody know?

If you recieve a call from this number, pay it no attention do not be bullied into giving them money report this person immediately because he is a fraud. He called my house phone and left a message on the answering machine and asked for me by my maiden name stating that his name was Special Agent Roberts from Greenberg, Stein and Associates(a law firm that used to exist from new york) and he preceded to tell me that both my social and my banking info was under fraud investigation and i should call that number to rectify the matter. Right then and there i knew it was a scam i never lived in georgia so how could they be investigating me there and even if that was the case why wouldn't the police have just arrested me. What law enforcement agency would blow their investigation to warn someone they are going to be arrested. Secondly even if the police were being that benevolent they have addressed me by my married name since i changed it on my social and thirdly they would have just arrested me point period blank. So I called that same day they were closed called back on my cell today and got the vmail apparently he had caller id so he called me back and said his fake name and that he noticed i called so i said who are you why are you calling my home phone, He responded "well you called me so what's the case number" gave him the fake case number and he asked stupidly who am i speaking with i was like you tell me you just looked up my case number he was like i apologize for that i was calling for a he gave my maiden name told him that isn't my name and who are you told me he was special agent rogers. I said for what law enforcement agency do you work for. he said if your not such and such why does it matter. i told him because left this message on my phone so it does matter he said he doesnt actually work for law enforcement he works for a law firm i said so how are you an agent neveretheless a special one (lol) he said again why does it matter i told him what are you doing calling people's phone leaving fradualant and illegal messages on there. He said his job allows him to do that could do that i said oh really special agent rogers(sarcastically) so what law firm do you work for he said greenberg stein and associate i said you mean the new york law firm that's closed down and no longer exists. He answered oh no we do exist we never closed i said alright then whose full name is on your letter head. He was livid yelled at me if you aren't such and such why do you care. I told him you are a criminal i read about you online what you did was illegal since you are a lawyer. Now he said that he wasn't a lawyer he just worked for a law firm. I was like listen do not call my phone number or my cell number leaving any threats if you do i will sue. That's when his true colors shined through because he dropped the professional tone and got ghetto on me and said you aint gonna sue me you probably don't have any money to sue me. I told him you are ridiculous and i will sue you if you call me again if you want to take that chance Special Agent Rogers i suggest you do it and you will have the sherriff  waiting at the door for you soon. I told him that he and his partners were going to get caught and i have the message saved.
